Master Degree in Governance & Human Rights 2016-2018
The Berlin and Lüneburg based Master’s program M.A. Governance and Human Rights (Magihr) is a 2 years online (blended) Master Degree directed at young professionals, scholars and students that aim to deepen their academic knowledge, understanding and skills in good governance and human rights.
As a professional Master’s program on human rights with its focus on practical skills and online-learning it is worldwide unique.
The MAGIHR is a hands-on program. Project-based learning is of pivotal importance so that students will develop and work on their individual project in governance and human rights right from the start. The program is primarily based on online learning elements to enable professional students to make studies possible despite of long distances or professional requirements. During the classroom sessions lasting two weeks each the questions raised will be dealt with in detail.
Students will be taught and supervised by outstanding and renowned international human rights academics, practitioners and experienced project coaches. Academic scholars and professors from international renown universities and institutions are teaching theoretical modules, whereas practitioners who work for Amnesty International, Transparency International, Stiftung Schüler Helfen Leben or as consultants for human rights defence especially in the MENA region will share their experience in practical human rights defence work and teach crucial skills to work successfully in that field.

In order to be eligible for the program, you have to hold a first university degree, have sophisticated English language skills and professional experience in the fields of governance and human rights. The application deadlines are July 1st (early admission) and September 30th (late admission) for the start October 10th 2016.
